An event dedicated to discussion of the current state of tobacco growing was held in Nakhchivan AR

Khayala Dadashova, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, mentioned that several measures have been taken to develop tobacco in our country in recent years. In line with the implementation of the "State Program on the Development of Tobacco in the Republic of Azerbaijan" since 2017, tobacco farming traditions have been redeveloped in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. Currently, tobacco cultivation is carried out in 4 regions of the autonomous republic. This year, 482500 tons of fresh tobacco were harvested in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. It is also noteworthy that all the manufactured products are all of high quality and tobacco products also take their place among Organic Nakhchivan products.
Then a video material about the traditions of tobacco growing in Nakhchivan and the activities of "Cahan Tobacco International" LLC was presented to the quests of the event.
Serhat Eroglu, director of "Cahan Tobacco International" LLC mentioned in his speech that highly profitable tobacco is grown in more than 250 countries of the world. Nakhchivan, which has favorable climate and soil conditions, has ample opportunities to grow quality tobacco. "Cahan Tobacco International" LLC, which has been operating since 2017, prefers local raw materials grown in the autonomous republic. Therefore, in the last 7 years, as a result of joint activities, high results were achieved, crop planting, harvesting and production increased. The achieved yield and high quality have formed the export potential of local tobacco products.
After that, quests got acquainted with the exhibition organized on the cultivation and production of tobacco in Nakhchivan AR. During the exhibition, the current situation of the tobacco industry and the problems encountered were discussed. As a final part of the event, valuable gifts were presented to local farmers who achieved high results in tobacco cultivation.
