The timely cutting of the tobacco leaf can be considered one of the most important points in its proper use as a raw material for cigarettes. Thus, the quality of cigarettes directly depends on the timely collecting and proper curing of tobacco leaves.
Tobacco grows in layers, so leaves are removed at intervals as they mature.
The most famous tobacco varieties in the world have been successfully cultivated on the fertile land of Nakhchivan for many years and excellent results have been achieved.
The main type of tobacco grown this year is the American Virginia, known all over the world for its high quality.
It it also noteworthy that in 2023 Cahan Tobacco International has cultivated tobacco in Babak, Kengerli and Sharur districts of Nakhchivan. Thus, on the basis of the contract signed with private farmers, tobacco planting works have been carried out on the area of 50 hectares, and the harvest is expected to be 80-90 tons of dried tobacco leaves.
By annually increasing the areas designated for tobacco cultivation, as well as improving and modernizing the working mechanisms of this complex process, CTI continues to make its contribution to the economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
